Cargo transportation volumes along the Middle Corridor via Azerbaijan have increased by 90 percent over the past three years, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov during his speech at the 2nd Türkiye–Azerbaijan Joint Investment Forum, APA reports.
The Prime Minister noted that the importance of the Middle Corridor, which passes through the territories of our countries and plays a strategic role not only for our region but also for the expansion of global trade and transport links, is steadily increasing:
“Reforms aimed at facilitating trade are enhancing the digitalization of the Middle Corridor, which in turn has a positive impact on cargo transportation and trade dynamics both in our countries and in the region. Over the past three years, cargo transportation volumes along the Middle Corridor via Azerbaijan have increased by 90 percent.
In addition, the agreements reached in Washington in August regarding the connection of Azerbaijan’s main territory with Nakhchivan are of historic significance. The opening of the Zangezur Corridor, while providing new economic and transit opportunities for all states of the region, will also increase the throughput capacity of the Middle Corridor.”
