Azerbaijan's share in cargo transported by Georgian railways increased

In the third quarter of this year, the volume of cargo transported by Georgian railways decreased by 1.4% year-on-year to 3.5 million tons, APA's local bureau reports, citing the report of the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

According to the information, 9.5% of the cargo was domestic, 32.4% was international, and 58.1% was transit.

During the reporting period, 32% of the railway cargo entering the territory of Georgia was sent from Azerbaijan, and 29.1% from Russia. Azerbaijan's share increased by 1.7% compared to the quarter.

In July-September, 37.7% of the total cargo transportation was made up of coke and refined petroleum products, 20.6% of chemicals, chemical products, and artificial fibers, rubber and plastic products, and 12.6% of metal ores and other mining and quarrying products.
