On July 15, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov received a delegation led by Deputy Director General of China Railways State Corporation Sun Suyude, the Azerbaijan Railways told APA-Economics.
During the meeting, the importance of the intensive meetings held in recent months between the railways, as well as port and logistics companies of both countries to increase cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor was emphasized.
It was noted that with the Joint Declaration signed between Azerbaijan and China within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit held in Astana on July 3, cooperation will be further strengthened in terms of ensuring uninterrupted operation of international transport corridors and creating favorable conditions for transit transportation.
The Chinese side expressed its intention to join the Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd. joint venture established between the railways of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia for the development of the Middle Corridor.
