The gallery built on the 75th km of the Horadiz-Aghband railway line is the first railway gallery built during the independence period of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sanubar Nazarova, the head of the press office department of "Azerbaijan Railways" LLC told journalists about this within the framework of a media tour of the reconstructed Horadiz-Aghband railway in East Zangezur, APA-Economics reports.
According to her, the gallery built on the 75th km of the Horadiz-Aghband railway line was designed to protect the railway from rock fragments that may fall from the mountains.
"The length of the gallery is 144 m. The size of the gallery under construction allows for electrification of the railway line in the future," Sanubar Nazarova said.
She added that the gallery is designed on piles and its construction is monolithic reinforced concrete.
