The governments of Azerbaijan and Germany are currently identifying the topics and issues of greatest interest to both sides and will come together at the next stage to coordinate these areas, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dirk Lölke said at a press conference held as part of the “German-Azerbaijani Strategic Partnership and Connectivity Conference 2026, APA-Economics reports.

“This is a very important political framework for us. I believe we have taken our bilateral relations to a new level. I am very pleased to be here in the period following President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Germany at the end of July. A political framework is essential for the development of economic relations. We can put it this way: we need to provide business with political assurance and confidence.

“Nargiz Wieck explained how important the region in which Azerbaijan is located is in terms of connectivity. At the same time, there are certain risks here. Two of Azerbaijan’s large neighbors are in a state of war for different reasons. Fortunately, the peace process with Armenia is underway. We highly appreciate the continued work of both governments on this process, because it is very important for the stability of the region,” he said.

“Therefore, we believe that economic relations, as well as cooperation in other areas such as education, will develop dynamically in the coming years. However, we have gathered here today to discuss connectivity and the economy. As the German Embassy, we work very closely with the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce,” the ambassador said.
