In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan received 199 block trains from China by railway, said Rovshan Rustamov, chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” JSC, during a meeting with Sun Syude, president of the China Railways State Corporation, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, as a result of effective cooperation, in 2024 the volume of goods transported by railway between the two countries increased by 47%, reaching 612 thousand tons.
It was noted that in 2024, 287 block trains were received from China, and in the first 6 months of this year this figure already amounted to 199 block trains. By the end of the year, the receipt of more than 400 block trains is expected.
