The 300th container block train has been dispatched from the People's Republic of China to Azerbaijan via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR - Middle Corridor), Azerbaijan Railways CJSC told APA-Economics.
The train departed from the Kazakhstan–China terminal in Xi'an city of China, is expected to arrive in the Baku International Sea Trade Port on December 8–10, passing through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Note that by 2025, the number of block trains sent from China to Azerbaijan and Europe is planned to be increased by more than threefold, reaching 1,000 annually.
In addition to cargo shipments from China to Azerbaijan, freight transport in the opposite direction has also begun. On November 24, for the first time, export cargo was sent from Baku to China via rail.
