For the high-level organization of COP29 to be held in Baku, the Organizing Committee, led by President Ilham Aliyev and created by his Order, is combining efforts by attracting all possible resources and is working in an intense working mode, Gulshan Akhundova, a member of the COP29 Organizing Committee, said at the 3rd International Conference on Experiential Learning held at the European Azerbaijan School, APA reports.
According to her, the hosting of COP29 in Azerbaijan holds great importance for both the country and the entire world: "COP29 will be one of the largest international events to be held in the country. This event will attract the world's attention to Azerbaijan and demonstrate its commitment to sustainable development principles. It will be an opportunity for the country to showcase its commitment to combating climate change and attracting investment in green technologies."
The member of the organizing committee also emphasized the importance of COP29 in terms of stimulating the development of the green economy: "COP29 will serve as a catalyst for the development of green technologies and investments in Azerbaijan. It will create new business opportunities and jobs. COP29 will help increase public awareness about climate change issues and encourage people to participate in environmental conservation activities."
