The next World Urban Forum (WUF13) and World Environment Day will be held in Azerbaijan in 2026, said the Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Mr. Anar Guliyev during his speech at the high-level opening on multi-level and multi-sectoral climate action at COP29, APA reports.
“Azerbaijan will proudly host WUF13 in 2026, and we will be pleased to establish the Special Representative for Urban Climate Action and take practical measures to translate our commitments into tangible results. In this regard, I am proud to highlight the establishment of the Baku Sustainability Coalition. We express our gratitude to our colleagues in this group - Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil and UN-Habitat,” Anar Guliyev added.
