Zakharova says Pashinyan government’s desire to rewrite history of Armenia will not work

"Armenian officials know very well how many Armenians were saved thanks to Russia," Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told a briefing as she commented on the statements made by Armenian officials against Russia, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

“Don’t those who make such statements know how many Armenian citizens were saved thanks to Moscow? Isn't that right? Don't they know about this in Armenia? Of course, they know. So why they forgot this? All this happened over decades. Many tensions in the region were defused by Moscow and directly by the President of our country, Vladimir Putin. Why don't they know this in Yerevan?! Of course, they know. So why do they make such statements? Do they want to rewrite history? It won't work. Because the Armenian people know their history very well. Both recent and centuries-old history... They know very well the role of our country in the fate of the Armenian people and Armenia,” Zakharova underlined.
