Zakharova reacts sharply to Mirzoyan’s Brussels talks with EU officials

Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly reacted to the meeting of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan with Kaja Kallas and Marta Kos in Brussels, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

Zakharova stated at today’s briefing that the statement made in Brussels proves that the sole purpose of the EU is to undermine relations between Russia and Armenia.

She noted that, in doing so, the Europeans have exposed themselves.

Zakharova called the EU representatives Kaja Kallas and Marta Kos “Brussels vampires.”

“This statement proves that the sole purpose of the EU is to undermine relations between Russia and Armenia. They are no longer hiding it. Perhaps they could hide it, but their mental capacity prevents them from doing so. What harm have Armenian consumers suffered from Russia-Armenia energy cooperation? None,” emphasized the Russian MFA spokesperson.

Note that as part of Mirzoyan’s visit to Brussels, the EU allocated funds to Yerevan to reduce dependence on Russian energy and to mitigate “threats in the field of information security” from Russia.
