NATO will teach Armenian servicemen to fight against Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said while commenting on Armenia’s participation in the “Eagle Partner-2026” international military exercises being held in the country, Russian media reports.
She stated that the maneuvers with NATO are regrettable because the goal is obvious — to distance Armenia from its traditional ally, represented by Russia.
According to Zakharova, such exercises have been held for more than a year and have taken on a systematic character.
She emphasized that Russia is regarded as the potential adversary during the drills and that this is enshrined in NATO’s doctrinal documents.
“They will teach Armenian servicemen how to fight against Russia. At one time, it was impossible even to imagine such a thing,” the Russian diplomat added.
