Tbilisi is beginning to realize that its hopes of joining NATO and the “golden mountains” promises in rapprochement with the EU are false, said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, at a briefing held today, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to her, despite Western pressure, the Georgian authorities declare that they are ready to defend their national interests.
Zakharova emphasized that thanks to the cooperation with Russia, Georgia demonstrates record growth rates in gross domestic product and citizens’ incomes: “In 2025, trade turnover between the two countries increased by 6%, reaching 2.7 billion dollars.”
