Six inmates attempted suicide in the Moscow City Court by slashing their wrists in protest against the extension of the measure of restraint in the form of arrest against them for more than two and a half years, APA reported citing RIA Novosti.
Merab Teloyan, the lawyer of one of the defendants, said that these people were detained in 2015. “Although two years passed, the investigation is still underway,” said the lawyer.
The Main Directorate of Russia’s Interior Ministry in Moscow confirmed the fact of the incident, noting that the injured were rendered necessary medical assistance.
