Monday afternoon’s blast on a St. Petersburg metro train was a ‘terror attack,’ a spokesman for the Russian Prosecutor-General’s Office told Russia-24 television news channel.
Aleksandr Kurennoi noted that the investigative authorities are probing into the explosion, but the prosecutors will examine absolutely all aspects of the affair.
"We will do our utmost to clear up the factors that made the terrorist attack possible to rule out such cases in the future," he said.
Following the order of the Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin, the Major Cases Directorate has taken over the investigation into a blast in Saint Petersburg metro.
Ten people died, about 50 others were injured as a result of the blast.
