The Investigative Committee of Russia has appealed to the General Prosecutor’s Office for putting businessman Telman Ismailov on Interpol’s wanted list, said a message posted on the Investigative Committee’s website.
Ismailov, a Russian citizen of Azerbaijani origin and the former owner of Moscow’s Cherkizovsky market, organized the murder of two businessmen Vladimir Savkin and Yuri Brylev committed last year, said the Investigative Committee.
Ismailov had plotted the murder together with his brothers Rafik and Vagif Ismailov, while Mekhman Kerimov was the perpetrator.
On May 15, 2016, Kerimov shot the businessmen to death from his car on Novorizhskoye Highway in western Moscow. Rafik Ismailov later helped Kerimov to flee the scene and go into hiding.
Telman and Vagif Ismailov have been remanded in custody in absentia.
