Agreements between Washington and Yerevan in the civil nuclear energy sector will eventually allow US companies to provide Armenia with approximately $9 billion in products and services in this field, including small modular reactors, announced US Vice President J.D. Vance at a joint press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, APA reports.

"We are also proud to announce that our countries have completed negotiations on the 123 Agreement on Civil Nuclear Cooperation," he said.

"When fully implemented, it will pave the way for deals between American and Armenian companies in the civil nuclear energy sector."

"This means initial American exports of up to $5 billion, plus additional long-term support through fuel and service contracts worth $4 billion," Vance added. "This means small modular reactors and American technology will flow to this country," he emphasized.
