The Ukrainian military has struck the LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery in the Russian city of Volgograd, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement, APA reports.

According to the statement, the strike resulted in a direct hit on the facility, triggering a fire on the refinery's premises.

The General Staff said that LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka is one of Russia's largest oil refineries, with an annual processing capacity of approximately 15 million tonnes of crude oil. The refinery produces gasoline, diesel fuel and aviation fuel, and also supplies fuel to the Russian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian General Staff added that during the same night, Ukrainian forces also struck a Russian Pole-21 electronic warfare (EW) system near the settlement of Holubovka in the occupied Luhansk region, an ammunition depot in the Naumka district of occupied Crimea, and a command and control post in the Bakhmut sector of the occupied Donetsk region.
