The Ukrainian army has struck the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia's Rostov region, General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces posted on the Telegram channel, APA reports.
According to the information, "Storm Shadow" cruise missiles were used for the strike.
"On December 25, units of the Ukrainian Air Force successfully struck the Novoshakhtinsk oil products refinery in Russia's Rostov region with air-based 'Storm Shadow' cruise missiles," the statement said.
It is noted that multiple explosions were recorded on the territory of the refinery, and the target was successfully hit.
The General Staff also stated that the Novoshakhtinsk refinery is one of the largest suppliers of oil products in the southern region of Russia. The refinery also directly supplies the Russian army units in Ukraine with oil products, in particular diesel and aviation fuel.
