Last night, there was a massive attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles on Moscow and the Moscow region, said Moscow’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, Russia’s air defense forces shot down 32 Ukrainian UAVs approaching the capital.
Local residents heard explosions in the cities of Zelenograd, Ramenskoye, Dubna, and Sergiev Posad in the Moscow region.
Due to the UAV attack, restrictions were imposed on the takeoff and landing of aircraft at all Moscow airports. The airspace over the Russian capital was completely closed. At Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky airports, 133 flights were canceled, delayed, or diverted. Most flights to Moscow airports were redirected to Saint Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport.
Moscow’s airports resumed operations at 8:00 local time.
