"Russian and U.S. Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump discussed the Israel-Iran conflict multiple times in recent conversations, but the American leader did not inform his Russian counterpart about any intention to strike the Islamic Republic," said Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
“There was no detailed briefing. The issue of Iran was repeatedly discussed by the presidents in recent talks, and Russia voiced certain proposals, but there was no direct and detailed information about this,” Kremlin spokesperson Peskov added.
Peskov also commented on the possibility of upcoming contacts between Putin and Trump. He stated that such contact is possible at any time if both presidents find it appropriate: “There are no current plans for this, but contact is always possible if deemed necessary by the presidents.”
