The Russian special police unit (SOBR) conducted an operation against Azerbaijanis in the Voronezh region, APA's Russian bureau reports that local media outlets.
It was reported that several Azerbaijanis were detained as a result of the operation.
According to Russian media, a person named Niyaz Zahidov was among those detained. He was reported to be a member of the criminal world and controlled the Alekseevsky market.
It was reported that Zahidov's passport of the Russian Federation was taken away and he was sent to a detention center for illegal migrants.
