At present, no one from Russia has called regarding Robert Kocharyan, and I hope no one will call because there is no point in doing so, Armenian Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan said on the air of the Dozhd TV channel, APA reports.
He said that the rhetoric voiced by Kocharyan and his political force largely coincides with the rhetoric voiced by “talking heads” from Moscow.
Simonyan called attempts to link the searches and arrests involving Kocharyan and his family to a dispute in parliament between Levon Kocharyan, an MP from the “Armenia” bloc and Robert Kocharyan’s son, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ridiculous.
“This is impossible,” Simonyan said.
He disagreed with claims that what is happening constitutes political persecution.
“The case concerning the arrest of Robert Kocharyan and his family was opened a long time ago,” Simonyan emphasized.
