The Armenian authorities have not changed their position regarding the removal of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II from office, Armenian Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan told journalists, News-Armenia reports.
The proposals concerning Karekin II, outlined in a report released today by the Armenian government on the crisis within the Church, are supported by the public.
Responding to journalists’ questions about what steps the authorities would take toward removing the Catholicos from office, Simonyan noted that the leadership’s position on the issue had not changed.
