An international team of Italian and Iranian archaeologists has discovered the remains of a shipwreck from the 18th-19th centuries off the Kazakh coast of the Caspian Sea, APA reports citing Kazakh media.
The results of the archaeological search were published in the Journal of Maritime Archaeology.
The report states that the ship was discovered due to the receding sea level. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that it was a Russian merchant ship.
