During a protest held in front of the Iranian Embassy in Armenia, police did not allow participants to march toward the Blue Mosque, APA reports, citing Azatutyun.
Protest participants stated that the rally and march had been approved by a January 15 decision of the city hall. According to them, part of the march was canceled after the Iranian ambassador’s “threats” yesterday.
In protest, the participants began a sit-in demonstration. Police demanded that the protest be stopped and warned that force and special means could be used.
The situation at the scene remains tense.
