The Central Bank of Russia has reduced its key interest rate from 16% to 15.5%, APA's Moscow bureau reports, citing the Central Bank of Russia.

The statement noted that the country’s economy continues to return to a balanced growth trajectory.

“In January, price growth accelerated significantly due to one-off factors. However, the Bank of Russia estimates that the underlying indicators of current price growth have not changed substantially,” the regulator said in its press release.

Note that this marks the sixth consecutive cut to the key interest rate. The rate was last reduced by the same amount in December 2025, from 16.5% to 16%.

Previously, the Central Bank lowered the key interest rate from 21% to 20% in June 2025, to 18% in July, to 17% in September, and to 16.5% in October.
