Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by telephone with his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, APA reports citing Kremlin press service.
The previous conversation took place on March 6, following a series of talks with the leaders of the Persian Gulf states. On March 9, Putin spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump.
During the current conversation, the Russian side reported, "the discussion of the situation in the Middle East in connection with the Israeli-American aggression against Iran continued."
"The Russian President reaffirmed his principled position in favor of a rapid de-escalation of the conflict and its resolution through political means," the Kremlin press service reported.
"Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Russia for its support, in particular for providing humanitarian aid to Iran," the statement said.
