Russia's Foreign Ministry has stated there are grounds to believe Ukrainian special services were involved in the killing of General Yaroslav Moskalik, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova made the declaration, noting: "There is reason to suspect Ukrainian special services' involvement, particularly since Moskalik was known to them from his work in the Minsk Contact Group and Normandy Format on resolving the conflict in southeastern Ukraine. If the investigation confirms Ukraine's involvement, it will again demonstrate to the international community the barbaric and treacherous nature of the Kyiv regime."

The incident occurred at approximately 10:40 AM when a parked Volkswagen exploded outside a residential building in Balashikha, Moscow region. Initial reports indicated one fatality near the vehicle. Russian media later identified the victim as Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik (59), deputy head of the Russian Armed Forces' Main Operational Directorate since 2021.
