Russian MFA spokesperson says OSCE Minsk Group resumption is not possible

Is it possible to resume the work of the OSCE Minsk Group? No. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing today, March 20, APA reports citing Russian media.

“I will remind you of the background. And, by the way, I do not see any connection between the activation or, let's call it that, the restoration of contacts between Russia and the United States and the topic of the OSCE Minsk Group. Our position on the OSCE Minsk Group is unchanged. You remember that it was the American and French co-chairs of the group who simply stopped their work in it. They stopped their interaction with their Russian counterpart in February 2022. Also, Armenia recognized Karabakh as an integral part of Azerbaijan,” she said, noting also the factor of changing the situation ‘on the ground’ in September 2023.
