"The tone and content of the last press conference of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan cannot but be regrettable," the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova said at a briefing she held today, APA reports.
She called Mirzoyan's words a lie: "Instead of drawing objective conclusions, especially from their own mistakes, an attempt was made to put all the responsibility on Russia. There is no basis for this. Because this is not Russia's mistake. Unfortunately, this is official Yerevan's mistake. What he said about Armenia's appeal to Russia and the CSTO regarding the escalation of the situation in the Armenian districts at the border with Azerbaijan in September, 2022 is not true."
Zakharova noted that Armenia did not allow the CSTO mission to be sent to the region: "If the Armenian leadership had not prolonged this issue, the CSTO mission would have successfully operated on the ground and prevented incidents. But what did they do in Yerevan instead? There they decided to do it differently. They called the observers of the European Union. The main task of these people was to collect intelligence information about the politics of Russia and Iran."
Russian MFA Spokesperson stated that she saw contradictions in the statement made by Mirzoyan regarding the November 10 tripartite statement not being in action as well. She noted that, on the one hand, Armenia says that this statement is not active, and on the other hand, it says that the country is committed to fulfilling the obligations it had taken on in this statement.
Zakharova reminded Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan that since September of last year, an invitation has been sent repeatedly for consultations in Moscow on the issue of the peace agreement.
She stressed that the latest signal was sent to Armenia a few days ago.
