Russian MFA issued official statement on domestic political situation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia issued an official statement in connection with the current internal political situation in the country, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

The statement reads:

“The attempted armed rebellion that took place in our country causes sharp rejection in the Russian society, which strongly supports the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin. The adventuristic aspirations of the conspirators, in fact, are aimed at destabilizing the situation in Russia, destroying our unity, and undermining the efforts of the Russian Federation aimed at ensuring reliable international security. Thus, the rebellion plays into the hands of Russia’s external enemies.

We warn Western countries against any hint of a possible use of the internal Russian situation to achieve their Russophobic goals. Such attempts are futile and will not find a response either in Russia or among sane political forces abroad. We are convinced that in the near future the situation will find its solution, worthy of the age-old wisdom of the Russian people and the Russian State.

All goals and objectives of the special military operation will be fulfilled.

Our country will continue its sovereign course to ensure its security, protect its values, strengthen its prestige in the international arena, and form a just multipolar world order.

We highly appreciate the understanding of this principled position by our allies and foreign partners, which we are already fully aware of”.
