Deliberate disinformation is being spread that the CSTO does not defend Armenia, this is not true, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, said at a briefing held today, APA's Russian bureau reports.
She noted that the claims heard from Yerevan from time to time are absurd and not based on facts: "In this background, political dialogue and inter-institutional cooperation with the Russian Federation is becoming limited. That is, the economy shows one thing, and the political superstructure does the opposite. In addition, it is reported that Yerevan remains in the EEU, but freezes its presence in the CSTO, as if these structures consist of different countries. There is pressure from the West, the words of Western officials seem to be reflected in Yerevan's political rhetoric," said the Russian MFA spokesperson.
