Russian Foreign Ministry warns Western troops deployed in Ukraine will be considered legitimate targets

The deployment of Western military units, military facilities, and other infrastructure in Ukraine will be considered a foreign intervention that poses a direct threat to security and will become legitimate targets of the Russian army, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

According to her, the Russian Foreign Ministry officially warns that the deployment of Western military units, military facilities, warehouses, and other infrastructure in Ukraine will be considered a foreign intervention that poses a direct threat to the security of not only Russia but also other European countries.

Zakharova stressed that the Declaration on Security Guarantees for Ukraine, signed by the "Coalition of the Willing" in Paris on January 6, is aimed not at achieving peace, but at continuing the militarization and escalation of the conflict: "The main element of the declaration is the deployment of 'multinational forces' on the territory of Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry warns that the deployment of Western military facilities on the territory of Ukraine will be classified as foreign intervention and will pose a direct threat to the security of Russia and other European countries. All such facilities will be considered legitimate combat targets for the Russian armed forces."

She noted that a peaceful resolution of the conflict is possible only if the root causes are eliminated, Ukraine returns to a neutral, impartial status, undergoes demilitarization and denazification, and other issues are resolved.
