Russian Foreign Ministry denies reports of Lavrov-Rubio meeting postponement

The meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio requires preparation, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

He denied media reports about the postponement of the Lavrov-Rubio meeting.

“You cannot postpone something that hasn’t been agreed upon. Yesterday, we did not confirm what some Western sources wrote. We have no agreement regarding the time or place of such a contact. In principle, the idea of this meeting exists. Of course, it is of great importance. But precisely because such an event is highly significant, it requires preparation. We are working on this. Yesterday, the minister had a phone conversation with the Secretary of State regarding this,” Ryabkov added.
