It is not clear what criteria Armenia uses to label opposition-minded individuals as “agents of Russian influence, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at a briefing today, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
She emphasized that the persecution of opposition figures and religious leaders in Armenia is accompanied by accusations of ties with Russia and Russian intelligence services.
"Considering that these individuals are supporters of the development of bilateral relations, then Prime Minister Pashinyan also speaks about the development of relations with Russia. However, if they are simply flirting with the opposition under the Russian "sauce", this is no longer a friendly act," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted.
