Russian FM responded to Pashinyan, accused the Armenian authorities

Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements regarding the Russian Peacekeeping Contingent in Karabakh, APA reports.

"Armenian authority often gives vague statements over a number of main issues," Zakharova said in the briefing held today.

According to her, the arguments regarding the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Karabakh are indefinite.

“Does the Armenian Prime Minister want this? Everyone is aware that the peacekeepers are conducting important functions. Does Armenian leadership really regard their activity useless? Do they regard the Russian peacekeepers as unwanted and want them to leave? The Armenian authority often gives vague statements over a number of main issues, but I would like there to be no ambiguity about this. Making everything suspicious creates a lot of questions. In general, the claims that Russia does not try hard enough looks double irrelevant after Armenian leadership’s recognition of Karabakh as Azerbaijan’s territory,” she stated.
