A traditional meeting has been held in Moscow between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the ambassadors of the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to the information, the CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev has also attended to the meeting.
During the meeting, the outcomes of cooperation in the CIS format under Russia's chairmanship in 2024 were summarized. The further strengthening of foreign policy coordination, the expansion of cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian sectors, as well as in the field of security, were discussed, main tasks for the year 2025 - the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War - the year of peace and unity in the fight against Nazism were identified.
The participants of the meeting exchanged views on current global and regional issues, including in the context of the implementation of Russian President Vladimir Putin's initiative to form a new architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.
Note that Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, has also participated in the meeting.
