Russian citizens to enter Kazakhstan with electronic entry permit

Russian citizens will be required to obtain an electronic entry permit to enter Kazakhstan, , APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

The QazETA entry permit system for foreigners will operate in pilot mode until November 1. If, during an attempted entry, it is found that the permit is not in the system, this will constitute grounds for refusal of entry.

From November 1, Russian passengers on international flights will also be required to obtain a permit.

Starting from November 15, those entering by car through borders with countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union; starting from November 30, those entering by car through borders with Eurasian Economic Union countries; and starting from December 15, those arriving by train and through seaports must obtain a permit.

The permit will be valid for 180 days and will allow more than one trip to Kazakhstan.
