Russian Cabinet introduces compulsory marking for cosmetics, engine oils

The Russian government approved a decree introducing compulsory marking for individual kinds of cosmetics and household chemicals, grocery, lubricants and engine oils, APA reports citing TASS.

"Compulsory registration with the government system [the ‘Honest Mark’] starts for market participants from March 1, 2025. The document sets forth the following timeframe for introduction of marking: in the period from May 1 to July 1, 2025, marking will become compulsory step by step for individual kinds of grocery; from May 1 to October 1 2025, also by stages, marking will be introduced for certain types of cosmetics and household chemicals," the government said.

Compulsory marking of lubricants and special vehicle fluids will be introduced from September 1, 2025, the Cabinet added.
