Russian forces have launched a large-scale counter-offensive operation in the Kursk region, according to the local media, APA's Russia bureau reports.
It was reported that Russian troops have already driven the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of the village of Gordeevka. In total, more than 10 kilometers of territory were reportedly freed within 24 hours.
"The operation was carried out by soldiers of the 155th marine brigade. They entered Gordeevka from four directions: the villages of Korenevo, Kulbaki, and Martynovka, as well as from Nechayev, where Ukrainian forces were pushed back. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces retreated with heavy losses.
At the moment, Russian forces are advancing in the areas of Apanasovka and Martynovka. The operation to liberate the Sudzhansky district continues," the report stated.
