Russia has urged its citizens to leave Iran via Azerbaijan, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
This was stated in a statement by Russia’s diplomatic mission in Tehran.
The embassy said that the optimal routes for exiting Iran are through Astara to Azerbaijan and via the Norduz/Agarak crossing point to Armenia.
“We recommend that you remain attentive and vigilant while traveling,” the statement said.
It was also noted that prior authorization from the Azerbaijani authorities is required to cross the border.
