Russia is closing Poland’s consulate in Kaliningrad, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
It stated that Moscow is closing Poland’s consulate in Kaliningrad in response to the closure of the Russian Consulate General in Krakow by Poland.
It was noted that on July 11, Poland’s chargé d’affaires in Russia was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry and handed an official note. The note stated that in response to the Polish authorities' decision to revoke consent for the operation of the Russian Consulate General in Krakow as of June 30, 2025, the Russian side will withdraw its consent for the operation of Poland’s Consulate General in Kaliningrad as of August 29, 2025.
