Russia ready to negotiate giving up nuclear weapons, says Peskov

Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, made a bold claim that Russia is prepared to engage in negotiations concerning nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, APA reports.

Speaking to the Izvestia TV channel and reported by TASS, Kremlin mouthpiece Peskov conveyed Russia's readiness to discuss the entirety of security issues, including the highly sensitive topic of nuclear weapons.

"President Putin has previously spoken about the possibility in the current conditions of negotiations with a discussion of the entire range of security topics," Peskov said, responding to questions regarding the potential for talks on "nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation".
