Russia wants the next meetings within the 3+3 regional cooperation format to be held in Baku and Yerevan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan following their talks in Yerevan, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
He noted that the 3+3 regional cooperation format was among the topics discussed during the meeting with his Armenian counterpart.
“The outcomes of the Tehran and Istanbul meetings allow us to be optimistic about the future of the 3+3 format. We discussed where the third meeting could be held. I believe Azerbaijan and Armenia can host it — they can reach an agreement among themselves. We are ready to support this process. We would like the next two events to be held in the capitals of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Lavrov said.
