It has been proposed to ban the entry into the country of Russian athletes who compete for other countries, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
The proposal was put forward by Russia’s Minister of Sport, Mikhail Degtyarev.
“We feed them, educate them, provide coaches and training opportunities, and then they throw away their passports and leave. We will deprive them of everything, ban their entry into the country, and prohibit them from using our sports facilities,” the minister said.
Note that more than 30 Russian athletes who have changed their citizenship are competing for other national teams at the 2026 Olympics.
