Russia launches massive attack on Kharkiv, emergency service rescuers among victims

Russia launched a massive attack on Kharkiv last night, Unian reports.

The Russian armed forces also struck rescuers from the emergency service in Kharkiv, leaving people dead and injured.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that rescuers working at the sites of the attacks were targeted.

"As a result of the Russian forces' attack on Kharkiv, five firefighter-rescuers were killed. At least five people were injured," Klymenko said.

The minister also stated that Russia's massive attack on Kyiv caused serious damage to civilian infrastructure.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported explosions in the city's Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts. According to him, a fire broke out at a civilian enterprise and there were casualties.
