Russia-Iran comprehensive agreement unrelated to date of Trump's inauguration - Kremlin

The date of signing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Moscow and Tehran has nothing to do with the date of the inauguration of the newly elected US President Donald Trump on January 20, Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation said this in an interview with IRNA, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

"Numerous assumptions regarding the choice of the date of signing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Iran and Russia on the eve of Trump's coming to power only cause a smile. Let the conspiracy theorists have fun," the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.

Recall that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will pay an official visit to Russia on January 17. He is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace and sign the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the two countries as part of the meeting.
