The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Thursday that its airspace control intercepted three British military airplanes over the Back Sea, close to the Russian state border, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The ministry revealed in a Telegram post that its forces "identified the aerial targets as an RC-135 radio-technical reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft and two British Air Force Typhoon multirole fighters." As Russian fighters approached, the foreign warplanes swiftly changed course and moved away from the Russian border.
Furthermore, the ministry underlined that the Russian aircraft returned safely without violating any international regulations for the use of airspace over neutral waters.
