Russian security services have identified an undeclared British intelligence officer working at the UK Embassy in Moscow, APA’s Moscow bureau reports, citing Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
The agency said it has revoked the accreditation of a British intelligence officer who was covertly operating at the embassy. It was noted that the individual had been officially registered as a secretary in one of the departments of the British diplomatic mission.
The FSB confirmed that the officer’s accreditation has been canceled and that he has been ordered to leave Russia within two weeks.
It was also reported that on January 15, the United Kingdom’s Chargé d’Affaires, Danae Dholakia, was summoned to Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
